A Taste of Wicklow
From growing and foraging to brewing and distilling, County Wicklow is proudly unearthing its food and drink story. There’s a wonderful choice of places to have a lazy brunch, stock up with treats for a self-catering stay, have a meal out in the evening or learn about the food around us in the great outdoors.
Wicklow Naturally
County Wicklow is home to some of Ireland’s finest food and drink producers and Wicklow Naturally is championing the wonderful food and drink which is produced and crafted in the Garden of Ireland.
Make sure to look out for the Wicklow Naturally brand when dining out or shopping for excellent quality food and locally sourced ingredients.
Foraging
Wicklow has a reputation for its wildness and foraging tours are perfect for those who love nature, walking or are interested in a more sustainable way of eating.
Both Wicklow Wild Foods and Hips and Haws Wildcrafts offer guided walks with a forager which allow you to immerse yourself in the wildness and beauty of the mountains but also which will teach you so much about food growing in our hedgerows. Learn how to identify leaves, flowers, berries, nuts and mushrooms depending on the season and how you can incorporate these wild foods into your daily diet.
