An unforgettable guided tour
Come and enjoy an unforgettable guided tour with a horse and caravan in the Wicklow countryside.
What you’ll do
Visit our family farm, get to know the horses and then set off on the road for a fun guided adventure with your horse and caravan. You will be warmly greeted when you arrive. Then we will show you around our yard, the tack room and your caravan. To start, we will catch your horse from the paddock and we will share some insider tips and tricks about how to look after, halter, feed and groom horses and then you get to try it all yourself. While you are brushing, you will get to know your horse a little and there is lots of time for hugs, kisses, and selfies with him too!
Then it’s time to harness the horse and hook everything up to the caravan for your big adventure. We will leave the farm and travel along the local roads with great views of the Wicklow Countryside. We will teach you all about driving the horse and caravan and you will have the chance to hold the reins and drive. When we return to the farm, it’s time to unharness your horse and give him a nice relaxing shower with the hose before returning him to his paddock. There will be plenty of nice horse treats too for you to give him to say thanks!
Where you’ll be
You’ll visit our family farm and glampsite at Cronybyrne. Nestled close to the Wicklow Mountains National Park and Glendalough Valley and just 1hr from Dublin. It’s the perfect place to explore the Irish countryside with lots of green fields, rolling hills and fairy-tale forests. Our rural location is best suited to guests travelling by car but we can happily help arrange transport from the local train station at Rathdrum or bus stop at Ashford. If your preferred date or start time isn’t shown, please do get in touch to see whether we can customize a time for you.
We love our hairy heavy horses!
Known as Irish Cobs they are famous for being cuddly, calm and very clever as well as very strong. They really enjoy getting to know people, getting a nice massage when you brush them and some yummy treats along the way. Nothing is compulsory, you can be involved in as much or as little of the experience as you would like.
It is very important to us that our horses are content and free to express their natural behaviour. They live in a very natural environment as a group in open green fields surrounded by woodland. Physical and mental stimulation are very important for their well-being and they are really affectionate companions who enjoy a bit of activity and fun.
We take great pride in our horses and in the caravans we build ourselves here on the farm and we are really excited to share this experience with you!
