Holiday with a Horse – Training

Over 70% of our new visitors have no horse experience at all.

We provide all visitors with a full ‘horse instruction’ which consists of your learning and practicing how to catch, look after, harness and drive your horse.

Our training is such that we have confidence that our visitors will be capable of caring for their horse and enjoying their holiday. If you need any assistance along the way, we are only a call away!

Our horses, Irish Cobs, are famous for being strong, quiet and docile. We take great care to match you with a horse especially selected for the route and for your ability.

For those that would prefer an escorted caravan tour, we can arrange to add a guide/driver to your booking on advance request and at an additional cost. This way you can still get involved and hands on with the reassurance of extra assistance should you need it.

Your Unique Accommodation

Your horse caravan is well equipped to give you all the necessary comforts for your trip and yet light enough for one horse to pull. The caravans are approx. 5m long and 2m wide.

The caravan includes:

  • cosy daytime seating and night-time sleeping accommodation for 4-5 (two double-beds and a bunk bed suitable for children)
  • Bed linen, duvets, sleeping bags and pillows.
  • A gas cooker (two rings & a grill), cooking pots and utensils, a frying-pan, cutlery, crockery, teapot, kettle, water container and cleaning utensils.
  • Gas lighting provided by internal gas lights at the front and rear of the caravan.
  • Sink with draining board, table, drawers, shelves and hanging space for clothing.

Hear from some happy holidaymakers

We really enjoyed our tour ambling round the lovely Wicklow countryside.  Romeo was a fantastic horse – you couldn’t have asked for a more good natured, patient and friendly animal.  We were actually quite nervous about how we would handle him at the start, as neither of us had had anything to do with horses up until last Saturday, but under John’s expert instruction and all of you being so encouraging, we felt very supported and really confident by the end.  It was a fantastic way of seeing some beautiful countryside and having time to appreciate it rather than dashing through it in a metal box.

We want to send this mail just to thank you, your family & everyone at the farm. We enjoyed an unforgettable holiday in Ireland and will spread this good news further on to all our friends & colleagues in Belgium & abroad. We experienced the Irish people to be extremely open, friendly and helpfull. Special thanks first of all to Toby, a one in a million horse, it really was a pleasure to travel with him  !!     Also to you & the whole team, we knew we could count on you whenever necessary.Take care and we look forward to our next visit in Ireland…
